Many parks and reserves are experiencing an overpopulation of elephants relative to their land area resulting in serious habitat destruction.
Who We Are:
The Elephant Population Management Program is an international collaboration of wildlife specialists, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, industry partners, game reserve/national park managers who are working together to alleviate elephant overpopulation in southern Africa without the use of culling.
What We Do:
In an attempt to bring new technologies to help resolve complex conservation issues, EPMP came up with the concept of performing vasectomies on wild, free ranging bull elephants as an option for population management.
